At The Cicerone Method, we take your privacy and data security seriously. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and handle your information when you use our website, diagnostic tools, the classic portal, the Cicerone web app, and the Cicerone Android app (together, "the apps").
1. Information We Collect
We collect information to provide a personalized execution experience:
- Account Information: When you sign up, we store your email address and username. Passwords are securely hashed and are never stored in plaintext. If you sign in with Google or Apple instead, we receive your name and email address from that provider and store them the same way; we never receive your password for those accounts.
- Execution Data: Any reflections, morning reviews, monthly audits, habit lists, and evidence logs you input into the portal.
- Diagnostic Quiz Inputs: Answers submitted during the onboarding or diagnostic quiz to generate your roadblock profile.
- Prospect Email Capture: If you create an account or enter your email on our pages, we store that email in our Supabase database to provide your account and send related communications. You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time.
- Pre-signup coach conversations: The coach chat available on our sales page (before you have an account) stores what is typed into it, linked to an anonymous session, so we can improve the product.
- In-app Thought Partner conversations: Your chat history is stored as part of your own synced account data in the web app, and only on your device in the Android app. To monitor coaching quality we also record automated quality scores about each coach reply (for example its length or formatting); these scores contain no conversation text and are not linked to your account.
- Reports you file on AI responses: If you report a coach reply from inside the app, we store that reported message together with your account identifier so we can review it, act on it, and improve the safety of the coach. Reports are deleted along with the rest of your data if you delete your account.
2. How We Store Your Data
Your personal dashboard data is stored using Supabase (a secure cloud database built on AWS). Access to your personal data is restricted using database Row-Level Security (RLS), ensuring that only you can access or modify your records.
While account data is stored securely in the cloud, standard diagnostic quiz results and browser sessions may be stored locally on your device for immediate convenience.
3. Third-Party Integrations
We partner with trusted third-party providers to handle key functions:
- Stripe: Payment processing for web subscriptions is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store or process your credit card numbers on our servers.
- Google Play and RevenueCat: Subscriptions bought in the Android app are processed by Google Play, which handles your payment details; we never see your card information. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status, so it receives your purchase history and an account identifier in order to keep your subscription attached to your account across devices.
- Firebase (Google): The Android app uses Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand which features are used and to diagnose crashes. This covers device and app information (such as model, operating system version, app version) and usage events such as screens opened. It does not include the content of your chats, wins, reflections, or other personal notes.
- Meta (Facebook): We use the Meta Pixel and Conversions API to analyze marketing performance and track conversions (such as quiz completions, sign-ups, and checkouts). Where an email address is shared for ad measurement it is first hashed (SHA-256).
- Google Gemini: The Thought Partner uses Google's Gemini API to process your inputs and generate coaching responses. Data you send to the Thought Partner is transmitted to Google for processing in order to provide this feature.
4. Your Rights and Control
You have complete control over your account. You can edit your content and reset your password at any time.
Account deletion: you can permanently delete your account yourself from inside the app: open the Cicerone app, go to Settings, and choose "Delete account". This erases all of your data from our database (profile, wins, mission, synced app data, push subscriptions, reports you filed on AI responses, and stored emails) and deletes your login. It cannot be undone. If you prefer, email support@theciceronemethod.com and we will delete it for you.
Cancelling your subscription: if you subscribed on our website, deleting your account also cancels that subscription automatically. If you subscribed through the Android app, your subscription is held by Google Play and we cannot cancel it for you: please cancel it yourself in Google Play subscriptions, otherwise Google will keep billing you even after your account here is deleted. You can also reach both options from Settings in the app.
On-device data (Android): the Android app keeps your day-to-day data (protocol runs, journal notes, chat history) in a local database on your device. Uninstalling the app removes that local data.
Children: our products are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
